Q: Connecting to a specific AP

Hi,

so here's my problem. I bought a retina macbook pro and after using it for two days, i found out that when i connect my magic mouse via bluetooth, it steals a lot of wifi signal from my 2.4ghz access point. So I bought a dual band wifi router and I would like to set it to same SSID as the old one, so the signal would be stronger and we could use airdrop, itunes wifi sync and all that stuff. But my mac still keeps connecting to a 2.4ghz AP, so i had to change the SSID on the new router to a different one and had to deny access to a 2.4ghz to my mac's mac address so it would only connect to a 5ghz band.

So my question is: Is there any way to keep the SSID's same and choose between AP's manually, so i can be connected to my 5ghz when I'm working with my mouse and also connect to 2.4ghz when I turn off the mouse and take my mac to another room?

I read lots of articles and discussions about it but they're all old or not solved.

Many thanks,

Regards.
