iOS 10: no more airplay to airport express??

I've noticed that in iOS10 my iPhone explicitly looks for 'Apple TV' to mirror the iPhone.

Which seems to mean that I have lost audio-only streaming to Airport Express, which I have a couple of in my house just for that purpose. Has iOS10 rendered my Airport Express setup obsolete or is there some other way other than the control center?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.1

There are now two panels in Control Center on iOS 10. While AirPlay Mirroring is on the main panel, the music controls are on the secondary panel. To access the AirPlay-enabled devices from Control Center, tap the source labeled "iPhone" and select your device. We have an airport express running, under the name "1st floor surround sound". We got this to work in iOS 10. Below is a picture that should help. User uploaded file

We found a solution after much frustration for video...1) you turn off airplay mirroring 2)swipe up and then left for what looks like the audio app then select your apple tv from the option at the bottom and it says "connecting to (insert apple tv name here)" then every video you start to play gets pushed to the tv in standard push mode not mirroring from the phone screen etc.

I agree. This is a disaster! I used to be able to flick the control center and then choose where to direct the sound, whether it be music, audio books, or video. I could choose AppleTV OR my stereo OR my car. Now, the phone will link up in my car but when I turn the engine off, the phone remains linked to the car. If I'm on the phone, I lose my connection when the engine goes off. If I'm listening to a book on tape, that's gone too. There's no way to tell the phone to switch from car > iPhone, or from iPhone > Stereo speakers. The only thing iOS 10 will allow me to do consistently is mirror up to Apple TV, an option I virtually NEVER USE!!! What's up with that? It all integrated so well before. Now, it's a major hassle. I'm glad I didn't download iOS 10 to my iPad or computer--then I'd really be sunk! Apple, PLEASE RESTORE THE PREVIOUS VERSION OF AIRPLAY. This one is simply not flexible enough for most purposes.

I Invested in airport expresses, Apple TVs and airplay enabled amps and other equipment. I have a subscription to Deezer solely because it works with Whhale to stream in sync to my sources. I upgrade to iOS 10 and Apple effectively give me the finger for investing in their kit....cccrrraaaaapppp. Ive got the fiddley unhelpful 'upgrade' to the control centre, but iOS no longer sees my airport expresses AT ALL. Sort it out ASAP please. Just gone off buying a new iPhone 7+ and mbp
