Q: Retina MBP displays dull yellow color after screen replacement

Hi Everyone,

I had a mid-2012 RMBP which was showing some image retention or ghosting after ~3.5 years of use. But I recently dropped it accidentally and the screen broke. I am PhD student and spend >=12 hours everyday (x 365 days)  on my computer so opted to get the display assembly replaced from the local Apple Store for ~700$. Right at the Apple Store itself, I noticed a dull and yellowish color on the NEW screen, but I thought it must be due to lighting or my eyes must be playing tricks. But now back at home and office, the screen looks dull, not as bright and yellowish than my older screen which looked magnificent in it's first 3 years. From the terminal, here are the details of my new screen, I am not sure what it means other than it is an LG screen.

I tried Calibrating the color profiles myself and no amount of calibration could bring the old appearance back. I am using a Merch color profile (posted by one of the users here), and it has reduced the problem slightly but the dull color is still there. In these two threads, it appears that customers have received these screens after replacement. Any suggestions what to do now ? It is such a shame after spending 2700$ on a computer and 700$ on a repair.
