Q: Email Continually Crashing on iPad with iOS 10

My email keeps closing with iOS 10 on my iPad 4th Gen.  I can read a few emails and then the app just shuts down.  I've tried uninstalling the mail app and reinstalling.  I've also erased all settings and performed a hard reboot to no avail.  Any suggestions or fixes?

My wife has a ipad air 2.  she didn't have any problems.  We also have a IPhone 6.  After downloading the new IOS for that all of our settings were changed.  We didn't know that it happened.  We went on a trip shortly after and then got a message from our carrier that we were getting close to our max on our data plan.   Very irritating as we had to reset everything trying to remember what they were.  We also had to buy the extra data because we needed it to carry us over to the next month.

My IPad 2 gen 4 was crashing and the not so Apple Genius's ( 6 in total) told me that it was because it was because the ram capacity not able to support the new IOS and I needed to buy a new IPad.  Totally ticked off as I spend money on something that really wasn't needed.

i just got a survey from Apple about my experience using their support.   I rated everything as bad or not satisfactory.  I also put in my comments about my experience and have a request for them to contact me.

IF this is Apple's response, then shame on them for making the upgrade available to a device on which it was incompatible.  If the solution (which is deceptive steering) is to replace with a new device, then they should offer an incentive for doing so.  Big disappointment if they don't do something to address this on the 4th gen iPads.

Is there a way we can downgrade to a previous iOS so our iPad 4 can be functional.  Mine crashes very frequently and requires a hard reset each time. Not just on mail but everywhere.  Worked fine in ios 9.

MIne is still crashing. Not sure if you can go back or not, I did see something about it while googling, but I am not computer savvy enough to attempt it.

OK guys, I got some info to share. Yesterday I got an iPad Air 2 for two reasons: more space since my iPad had only 16Gb and I was with just 700mb available and an upgrade of hardware.

For my first (not intense) 24hours, I've tried to use the email and I had not faced a single crash yet. I guess it might be due to the 2Gb RAM... Twice what I used to have on my 4th Gen.

just to let you guys know.

I was saving and planning on upgrading from my IPad 2 gen 4 to the  IPad Pro when the next upgrade came out.

My IPad was crashing and was told that I had to buy a new one.  I purchased a Ipad Air 2 with 128.  I don't have any problems with it but am not happy as my old one would have sufficed until Apple messed it up with the IOS 10.

Now I am basically stuck with something that I didn't want.
