Question

5s OS upgrade to 10.01

I am getting these errors now when i plug my iPhone into my mac

iTunes could not connect to the iPhone “****** iPhone” because an invalid response

was received from the device.

iTunes 12.2.2.25

Photos in the Camera Roll of ***** iPhone cannot be imported because the device is locked with password

You must unlock the device to import them My phone is unlocked

iPhoto 9.4.3

Thanks for asking your question about the error codes with your iPhone here in the Apple Support Communities. I understand how important my iPhone is for everything these days, and will be happy to recommend a few things to work towards a resolution for this.

The first thing we want to ensure is that all your data on both the Mac and the iPhone is safe. For the iPhone, you can make a backup in iCloud or iTunes using this article : How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch .

For the Mac, you will need to use Time Machine to make a backup to an external hard drive. Some people recommend an external hard drive two times the size of your internal hard drive because it will fill up with backups eventually, but as long as you have a drive large enough to store all the data currently on your Mac, that will suffice. Use this article for help making a backup for your Mac: Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac .

Once you have your data backed up, I recommend this first help article: If iTunes doesn‘t recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod . This article has most of the common reasons others have had issues with iTunes recognizing an iOS device. It also talks about third party virus protection or security apps. If this issue started recently after you added or modified some third party virus protection or other security apps, please check this help article: Resolve issues between iTunes and third-party security software .

Once you get iTunes to recognize you iPhone, if you still have issues importing the photos, please check this hep article: If you can‘t import photos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer.
If you still are experiencing issues, or are not able to get iTunes to recognize the device using the above articles, you will need to know is if the issue happens in safe mode and a test user. Safe mode will tell us if the issue is related to a startup item or plugins. A test user will let us know if the issue is isolated to your account, or system wide.
To check safe mode, use this help article: Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up. If you no longer experience the issue in safe mode, but it occurs again in your normal user once you restart the computer to leave safe mode, please check the section titled "If an issue doesn't happen in safe mode" for troubleshooting steps.
If the issue is also occurring in safe mode, test this in a test administrator user. Check this help article: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac.
