Oct 12, 2016 3:43 AM in response to Billy78GRby luismpinto,Same problem here. Iphone 6, IOS 10.0.2. Mpow Magneto + aux cable. Sometimes there's no sound from Podcast app, sometimes youtube blocks at first frame and does not play.
Sometimes sound simply works, and without connecting or disconnecting anything it doesn't play any sound. The worst is that today it didn't play sound during the alarm (the freaking phone just vibrated). A few days ago I killed all running applications and the problem went away, but it doesn't always work.
Rebooting is not a solution! If I wanted a phone that solved problems by rebooting I would go back to Android.

Oct 13, 2016 7:18 AM in response to luismpintoby ik8sqi2,As with everyone - same issue. I have two phones - iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s that were working perfectly with iOS9. iOS 10 causes the audio to stop working thru the Apple-branded earpods that came with the phones. Two phones, two earpods, same issue after the upgrade. 10.0.2 did not fix anything. This is a software bug, not a hardware issue.

Oct 13, 2016 12:38 PM in response to Billy78GRby kouloup,Hi to everyone,
I'm experiencing the same problem since installing 10.0.2. Using earpods is becoming a pain in the ... Well you get the picture. I work for a telecom company and speaking on the phone is from another planet.
I'm definitely sure that it's a software error.
We pay (in Greece) about a thousand euros to get a smartphone THAT WORKS.
And we trust Apple to deliver 1st class products.
So Apple.... Get serious and fix it ASAP.

This is a user-based support community.
If you are sure that it is a software error, I suggest that you let Apple know:

Oct 15, 2016 4:19 AM in response to Billy78GRby Vkonst29 ,Same problem. After several calls sound from EarPods is lost and I have to press the sound twice to hear from the EarPods the call. after this, sound is lost also for the music and you have to disconnect and connect again the earpods to fix the music sound.
it like software problem but why is not happening with all users?
please inform about the country of its user in order to see if there is some concentration in some areas to detect any possible hardware issues.

Oct 15, 2016 4:28 AM in response to Vkonst29by Puertopadre16,The same issue exists with me here in CH and has been brought to the attention of Apple. I've also included the link to this discussion in my feedback report so that the software gurus can better identify what exactly is going on and hopefully find a solution that works for all those affected. It is now only a matter of time I suppose. Maybe in the next iOS.

Oct 15, 2016 6:56 AM in response to Billy78GRby Mr G13,Same problem here. The only way to fix it is erasing your iPhone and then restoring it. The downside on this is that the problem occurs again after a few days.
Until a new update is out restoring your phone every week is the only solution I've found.

Oct 16, 2016 1:50 AM in response to Nannitzby JTh_swe,I am also been having the same trouble when making and recieving phone calls. After I updated to 10 and 10.0.2 I regulary have to try 2-3 times before a phone call goes throu with the sound working with either speaker or headset connected. I have reinstalled the phone with no affect.
What are Apple doing to resolve this bug?

Oct 16, 2016 4:38 AM in response to Billy78GRby nbadules,Same thing here, discovered in the first day after update to iOS 10 on an iPhone 6S. Banged my head on the walls until found this thread, all the other threads on this subject were back in March-April during Developer Beta Test of the iOS 10.
So, this is not new for Apple - there were reports from the beta-testers most probably ignored by Apple.
PS: I filled in the feedback on Apple site and from the drop-down box with the newest iOS version listed there was only 10.0.1. I think we are witnessing the end of Apple ecosystem which "just works".

Oct 17, 2016 12:31 AM in response to Billy78GRby bikegreeny,IOS 10.0.2 iPhone 6s 64GB.
Same problem here. Podcast sound stops without warning through both Bluetooth & ear-pods. Also phone earpiece goes silent when I answered with the clicker on the ear-pods. I lost a job offer over this!@#$%.
Interesting what worked via the inbuilt loudspeaker in a faulty state; resetting ringer and notifications from Facebook etc. Playing videos, music and podcasts failed through the inbuilt loudspeaker. HDMI-Out worked OK!. Power-down failed to restore sound. Complete reset failed to restore sound. Podcast fired-up in previous state and I paired to a Bluetooth speaker, hit the -15secs icon. no sound, hit it again, no sound, got frustrated and hit it quickly several times then the Bluetooth speaker crackled to life and all sound was well once more.
Apple owes me big time for a lost job so it's too late now to revert to the 100% OK IOS 9.
Fix it quickly please Apple (I've put a formal complaint in - see the Apple link later in this thread)

Oct 17, 2016 1:18 AM in response to Billy78GRby GadjetX,I think I have found a solution. I own an 6s 128 and previously faced the same problems.
Initially I had upgraded my iPhone using OTA which was about 1gb file size.
3 days ago I couldn't take it anymore and decided to restore to 9.3.5, so I downloaded the file and restored it.
Of course the problem that appeared was that I couldn't restore the last back up from 10.0.2 and so I was forced to upgrade again but this time straight from my MacBook. The file downloaded was about 2.3gb and that caught my attention.
It's been three days now that I am using my iPhone without problems both with or without earphone, using Siri, music etc.
Could please anyone verify if it works for them?
Thank you in advance, George.
