Q: Music output with the next generation MacBook lineup
On September 16th, I received my iPhone 7, and despite the whole headphone jack controversy, I am completely fine using the lightning headphones, and sacrificing the jack. The thought crossed my mind, though, of how Apple will incorporate headphones for the next MacBook lineup, which is expected to have a redesign this fall. The primary problem revolves around this: it is inconvenient to carry around multiple pairs of headphones. If Apple is cutting the headphone jack from the MacBook lineup (which I would say isn't logical, as there isn't as huge a space concern with laptops as it is with iPhones), and force bluetooth headphones, then I would say no deal. But if the headphone jack is being kept, the question becomes this: is it the classic one, or will there be a lightning port for music output? I just wanted to float this thought, to have people consider exactly how the arrival of changing the music output standard will go.
Apple enthusiasts, I'd love to hear your thoughts, and Apple, make sure you think about this one.
