Errors in importing photos with iOS 10.0.1?

Hello, Hope to get your help quick!

It seems this error happened after updated iOS10.0.1. I tried to transfer photos and videos from iPhone 6 to my Mac mini, all the software is up to date.

2 messages pop up, one from iTunes with "Invalid response was received from the device" and another one from iPhoto saying "Unlock passcode".

I tried all the solutions like rebooting my Mac mini, restarting iPhones (both mine and my child's) and unlocking password manually. Cabled to PC and did the same, but didn't work at all.

I checked System > General > iTunes Wi-Fi Sync but was not applicable to click "Sync Now".

Hi stuckapple1,

I understand that you have updated your iPhone to iOS 10, but now when trying to sync it with your computer, you are receiving a error that an "Invalid response was received from the device". I know it's important to sync data to your iPhone, so I'm happy to help.

From your description, it sounds like there may be an issue with the USB connection. This article has more information on this error:

Check your USB connections

If you see error 4005, 4013, or 4014, learn what to do. If you see one of the errors below, you might have a USB connection issue:

  • 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650
  • 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009
  • An error message that includes, "invalid response"

Use these steps to see if the issue is with your USB cable, USB port, or computer. Try again after each step:

  1. Use the USB cable that came with your device. If you don't have it, try a different Apple USB cable.
  2. Switch to a different USB port on your computer. Don't plug into your keyboard.
  3. Plug into a different computer.
  4. If you still see the error, you can check for other USB issues, issues with third-party security software, and issues with hardware.

If the issue continues, contact Apple Support.

Thank you becky_s22 for your response!

This has been weeks but it seems the error started right after updating OS…. I've used my PC (mac mini) for years ( 4-5yrs) and had never this problem.

As you suggested I changed the port, cables, used Windows but same result came out. It happened to with my child's iPhone as well.. We're so upset and now seriously thinking about going back to the previous OS..

I really want to clean up all the videos stored on my phone! I guess I have to contact Apple Support if the old OS doesn't work.
