Q: 'Work and movement' ID3 tag bug (latest version of iTunes)

I've been experimenting with iTunes's new 'work and movement' feature, which comes in handy when tagging classical music. I've noticed one rather irritating bug, however: it improperly supports non-English characters such as ¨ or ß. If the movement is titled 'Äußerst bewegt,' which in German means 'extremely animated,' the 'Ä' and 'ß' characters are replaced by an odd diamond of sorts (similar to '') as soon as the track is played. I can edit it back to the initial spelling afterwards but the issue reoccurs whenever I play the track again. I'd like to bring this to Apple's attention, so I hope I posted this in the right place.

I don't know anything firsthand about the new iTunes (I still use iTunes 7.5) but this kind of issue may also depend upon the character set you use.  I know I can change that in my version of iTunes under the advanced menu and you could try experimenting with a different set.

Also make sure your country and language settings are what you want them to be. They can sometimes get lost when you do an upgrade. You should be able to use characters from another language but I think iTunes can get confused if settings are not as they should be for it.

Language settings are properly set and special characters are displayed just fine in the 'song' tag; only the 'name' tag under 'work and movement' is affected by this issue.
