Hello all,

quick question. Is there any way to check the size occupied on the hard drive by Mail accounts?

Thanks a lot!

    Greetings jfs-dev,

Thanks for posting here in the Apple Support Communities. I see you are wanting to see how much space the Mail accounts are using on your Mac. I will be more than happy to help.

Your profile says you have El Capitan, so for you, you can locate the Mail folder in your library to estimate the storage it uses. The instructions for finding that folder are here:

    1. Open Finder

    2. Click on the “Go” drop down and “Go to Folder” and type in “~/Library/” without the quotes and click “Go”

    3. Find the “Mail” folder, right click it, and choose “Get Info”

If you have the newly released MacOS Sierra 10.12 it’s a little easier:

    1. Click on the  button and click on “About This Mac”

    2. Click on the Storage tab

    3. Click on “Manage…”

One on the manage page it will break down your storage and show you the storage used by Applications, Documents, iBooks, iCloud Drive, iOS files, Mail, Photos, Trash, and System.

    Have a great week!
