Any help with 2009 MacBook Pro replacement parts?

Hi there,

Im looking to replace a few parts in my old but trusty 2009 macbook Pro 13", which unfortunately is now starting to die.

Im not that into my computers to be honest, and after searching about, I'm abit stumped with all the various parts available.

My MacBook won't turn on unless connected to the mains, so I'm guessing I will need a new battery?

Also, it runs silly slow now, so I would be looking to swap out the hard drive? Would be looking for a SSD..?

On top of that, the fan is constantly on and very loud, so will this need to be replaced aswell?

Any help would be massively appreciated.

Thanks

MacBook Pro

You could try matching your exact model with results found here:

https://eshop.macsales.com/upgrades/

In Europe some offerings of OWC (macsales) are available in the

region; http://owcshop.eu/catalog/ including the UK; also note

https://www.megamac.com/collections/owc

Also the powerbookmedic site has parts for a variety of models:

https://www.powerbookmedic.com/find-replacement-parts/

Companies whose business is to repair & restore portable Mac

computers usually have a parts supply; some may share them

with a hobbyist. This one offers substantial repair/parts service:

http://www.wegenermedia.com/

Be certain of your build model so as to match up correct parts

and alleviate assumptions that may be based on fuzzy logic:

• Mac Serial Number lnfo - Lookup your Apple Serial Number:

https://www.powerbookmedic.com/identify-mac-serial.php

You can get a download of a database of Apple/Mac products

that's helpful, from application maker's site: http://mactracker.ca

Also note http://www.everymac.com site has much information.

So if you correctly identify the build model year & hardware spec

locating replacement parts of correct match should be easy. And

note the size of the display can play an important role where parts

and upgrades are concerned. Details: specifications do matter.

Then, there are guides to replace hardware. Some fair video are

available to use free, from OWC macsales site. • Install Videos

And the generally well-known iFixit repair guides cover Mac tasks.

In any event...

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
