Deleted VMware, disk space did not come available afterwords?

Late 2013 MBP with SSD

I deleted vmware from the applications folder and deleted the vmware files from the library folder. Then emptied the trash and no new space came available. I then restarted thinking that may help but that did not do anything either. Any ideas how to get the space back?
