How can I get siri to spell names correctly in texts etc?

When I dictate names, Siri does NOT always spell them the way I have entered them in the contact list. I would like to be able to say 'Keli' and have siri spell Keli and not Kelly. Or Donn and not Don. I have tried entering the correct spelling under phonetic first name, but it does not do any good. HELP!!!
