Apple developer program Activation

I purchased a developer program and received an activation link through email immediately. Once I clicked on the link and activated the Program it said that, "We are unable to activate the Apple Developer Program".

I am lost here, I cross checked my account statement and can verify the purchase. I need a clear indication to what is going on and when will I get my activation.
