Q: image capture does not recognize my iPhone when I connect to my mac??
I have the iPhone se, when I connect it to my mac photos does not open... how do I set it to open

I understand from your post that you are wanting the Mac to open up Image Capture when you connect your iPhone so that you can import the photos. I like to have the ability to have an application auto launch when I connect my iPhone as well. I will be happy to help you with this.
If you go ahead and open Image Capture and then connect the iPhone, in the bottom left corner you will see your iPhone name and the "Connecting this iPhone opens:" You have the option to select which app you want. So if you want Image Capture to open when you connect your iPhone, you'd select that. If you want Photos to open, you would select Photos instead.
