iPhone 7 battery drain

Since getting the new iPhone 7 and upgrading to iOS 10.0.1, battery has been draining very rapidly and for some reason the Music app is the main culprit...60% in last week. I don't use Apple Music and play a lot of music on the phone, but that has never been a strain on the battery. I just went on a 30 minute walk and it is draining at 1% every 2 minute rate...what! Any ideas on what might be causing this?

Congratulations on the new iPhone 7! I understand that you are having some issues with the Music app draining a lot of your battery power unexpectedly. I know it's important to have power for your battery when it's needed, so I'm happy to help!
Since it's mainly the Music app that is causing this drainage, start by opening the app and making sure it is not downloading any music in the background, or still playing music when you're not using it.
So long as that's not the case, you'll want to optimize your battery performance in other ways. You can see how to do that in these articles:
