Nba2k16 keeps crashing on my Apple TV.

.....it happens each time I press the track pad to start the game when in the screen that features Harden, Curry and Davis. I've deleted the app and reinstalled it. I've even completely reset the Apple TV to factory settings and yet still the game crashes. All other apps are working flawlessl. Help!

Here is the response from the NBA 2K16 developer.

As you can see the developer and Apple is playing the blame game. Their response is as follows:

Thank you for taking the time to contact us at 2K Support.

From what I understand you were able to play NBA2K16 on your Apple TV before, but now it keeps crashing. Unfortunately there isn't much we can do to offer troubleshooting support at 2K. Apple Support should offer troubleshooting. However, we have received several tickets in which we were told that Apple Support is sending players back to us.

I did my due diligence of looking for answers though and found that the issue starts after an additional data download (update) from Apple. Also, some players have reported that deleting the game and then reinstalling it has not worked, neither does restarting apple TV or doing a TV cache clear (in which case you would have to back up all your library, which might take some time). So, when you contact them, you would need to provide them with more information, specifically any error message you are getting and the type of Apple TV you have (4th generation?). Finally, please ask them whether the use of their new controller has anything to do with the issue.

We apologize for any inconveniences and thank you for your patience throughout this time! Please contact us again to let us know if your issue was resolved.

Best regards,

2K Support

Hi. Under Settings > General > Privacy > Diagnostic and Usage Data, you should find crash reports for each time the game failed. They're in order by app name, date, and time. You may find some info on the first page of a dump that you could provide to the game developers. Things like the bug type, and the first few method names (dotted strings beginning with com.Apple). I don't know how to get these out of Apple TV, except by sending them to Apple.

I made it my duty today, to get some of actual resolution to the concern. I made sure that both the developer and Apple were made aware of each others response in the matter... over and over again, with documentation to prove it.

In the end, my issue was resolved, and I am very pleased with the outcome.

IN CONCLUSION:

Make sure you contact Apple and the developer, and document everything. (Yes I said everything)

The day you purchased the game, when the problems occurred, did you re-install the game, the developers response, etc... everything. It will provide helpful answers in the end.

Based on all the information I was able to provide to both parties (as describe in my previous post)... such as purchase date, re-install date, developer emails, and the list goes on... Yes, I was provided a refund for the purchase. This also comes with the hopes of me downloading the newer version of the game, which would be NBA2K 17 as they have made mention of.

in addition to all the details from previous post...

Here are the steps I would take, (assuming you've tried to delete and re-install the app) so that you advise both parties of your status / steps:

1. The website I used to contact the developer was http://support.2k.com/hc/en-us

From there, click on "Submit Request", complete the form request as needed.

2. Once the developer responds simply, call Apple Support team and advise them of the problem, and what steps you have already taken.

About the 3rd go around of calling and complaining to Apple ., I was able to talk to a member of the support team that went above and beyond the call of duty... literally. This was after explaining to them how much I have invested in Apple also. In the end, it was that particular support rep that contacted his supervisor(s), and maybe others above his pay grade to satisfy my request.

In the end, I am still a satisfied Apple customer, but I can't say the same for the developer of NBA2K.

As an FYI... 2k support has been contacting me the last couple of days about the same issue. Although Apple has resolved my complaint, I figured it wouldn't hurt to at least see how much help they would provide.

They (2k support) is now telling me that they are not the developers... they are only the publishers.

They provided this "community forum" to express my comments in hopes that the developers will see my message and respond accordingly. https://forums.2k.com/
