Q: iTunes can't detect iPhone

I tried updating my iPhone 6s to iOS10 last night and my computer told me I had to update iTunes first, so I did. After the update, iTunes couldn't detect my phone at all, but my computer did recognize that it was plugged in as well as the phone did- it charges when plugged into the computer (and I'm using the original cord that came with the phone). I've tried everything imaginable to get it to work- using a different cord, using a different USB port, deleting and reinstalling iTunes, updating my computer software to the Windows 10 Anniversary edition- but still nothing has worked. My problem isn't that I can't update to iOS10, but that I can't backup my phone if needed because iTunes won't detect it. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be and what can fix it?

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.5
