Sep 22, 2016 8:58 AM in response to B0mbast1cby Dona0,I am also having issues with my iphone 7 and a 2016 bmw, The car and the iphone 6 works great together.
It gets stuck playing music at about 2 seconds. I also cannot connect to answer or make phone calls.
The old saying holds true, misery loves company. I don't know if it is ios10 or just bluetooth issues, so hopefully
apple will fix this soon. I am sure it is not the car since it works fine with the iphone 6plus.

Sep 22, 2016 5:57 PM in response to B0mbast1cby BlackBeltCorbin,I am also having this issue!! Song starts when I first get in my car then after 10-25 seconds music stops playing though my car speakers, but according to the music app it's still playing? Also phone calls do not work through the audio system like they use to!
I have rest my iphone, reconnected my Bluetooth, reset my iDrive/BMW settings back to factory default and removed all personal data from my car and still no luck.
I have also shut off "Apple Music" since the BMW iDrive in the past has had issues when tr to load the song..
iPhone 7, 2015 BMW 435i Gran Coupe, iDrive is up-to-date.

Sep 26, 2016 11:51 PM in response to B0mbast1cby Stephen6667,I have this same issue BMW 428i. I have updated to the latest connected drive software MN-003.001.002 and the 6s works fine but the 7+ only plays for a few songs then stops working. This is a real problem that seems to be iPhone 7 related. Would be good to get a response from Apple.

Sep 26, 2016 11:59 PM in response to MCXV__by tigergt1964,Hi again,
I have a snap in connector for IPhone 6/7 in BMW - the official BMW connector that is in armrest. Just did a 3 hour drive and back over the weekend with phone in the connector and had no issues - so everything fine over 6 hours driving with playing music and accepting calls. I have no idea why the snap in connection makes it all work fine, but it doesn't when it is out of connector. The snap in connector though costs $400AUD and you shouldn't have to have this to make your $1K phone work in your $80K car!!!!

Sep 27, 2016 4:24 AM in response to tigergt1964by Stingray1978,This is the same as connecting via USB - when sitting in the cradle your Bluetooth connection is only used for phone calls, not for streaming music - thus the bug won't manifest!

Sep 30, 2016 4:01 PM in response to jsappleIDby King of Pumkins,Same here. I started a case today. When I told the initial AppleCare person about the issue and the Forum it was being discussed on, I got "on a form where peop can post whatever." I had to push to get it to engineering. I will return the phone if I don't get a response in 3 days.

Oct 1, 2016 10:28 AM in response to B0mbast1cby mobidutch,Happens with my Audi A5 as well. If I am playing music from radio or an SD Card, the music stops playing and the MMI audio UI completely freezes as soon as my iPhone 7 connects via Bluetooth. All other MMI functions like navigation still work, but any audio playback is frozen. So for now I had to remove the Bluetooth pairing. I did not have these issues with prior iPhone models, nor with a 6s on iOS10. So to me it seems this problem is iPhone 7 specific.

Oct 7, 2016 7:02 AM in response to captainJoelby King of Pumkins,Not sure if you are past your 14 day period but one option would be to exchange for another 7 near the end and hope for a patch before the end of your second 14 day period. If seems like AT&T phones' internals don't get along with our cars.
I returned my 7 and will wait to see if a fix comes out. One thing I have learned is that paying for AppleCare is really only worth it to me if I plan on dropping my phone a bunch. Otherwise, no AppleCare.
Lucky my 6s works perfectly (except for the battery which loves to drain!).

Oct 7, 2016 8:29 AM in response to B0mbast1cby MCXV__,A lot of blog sites are finally posting this issue and it seems to only be common with the iPhone 7 units. Looking at their polls, none of the 6 or 6s units are affected by it.
My best suggestion is to wait for Apple to come out with a software update addressing this or just return your phone if its truly a deal breaker for you.
