2 Desktops, 1 mirrored

I have a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro Retina that I use for DJ'ing. I want to set up a second desktop or something like it where I can connect a projector for a slide show, mirror that desktop only to the projector and then go back to other desktop and DJ. I do not want the crowd to see my DJ software, but when I use projector as extended desktop, I cannot always see it to make slide show full screen. Recently had to have crowd tell me when to maximize screen. Would be nice to run 2 desktops, mirror second desktop to projector and then go back to desktop 1 and DJ. Hope this all makes sense.

Thanks in advance for the help.

You can make any subset of your displays into mirrors in

System Preferences > Displays > Arrange

Drag and drop the rectangle representing a display directly onto the rectangle for another display, and they will be mirrored.

"Full Screen" is a feature reverse-ported from the iPhone, the land of tiny single screens and one-at-a-time processing. I consider it completely hopeless at dealing with multiple displays. Its usual response when you activate "Full screen" on one screen is to turn the other displays OFF.

I am thinking I am not making complete sense here. Also, I just realized this is for Desktop computers and I am using a Macbook Pro. Here is the problem. I Need to have multiple desktops. I need to run DJ software on one, and a slide show on another. I need to be the only one that can see the DJ software but when I change desktops I want to be able to see the slide show and have the projector which I cannot see show the slide show in full screen. Then go back to DJ software.
