iTunes 12.5.1.21: mouse offset

I installed 12.5.1.21 on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit SP1 and now my mouse clicks are off by like a couple of centimeters.

By off I mean that when I position my mouse cursor over a song title is the song below, or two song belong that gets highlighted. So in order to select the song that I want I have to position the mouse cursor like 4 centimeter up and 4 cm to the left before clicking.

I'm using a multiple monitor setup with NVIDIA Quadro K1000M (Driver version 368.39) .

Something has change in the way 12.5.1 handles the mouse input (since 12.4.2 didn't have this issue). Does anybody know a fix for this?

This is caused by DPI font scaling in Windows 7.

In Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Smaller 100% (instead of Medium 125% or Larger 150%).

In my case 125% was the default and that causes iTunes to misplace the cursor.

After changing the font scaling to 100% you need to log off and log on again to see the effect.

The fonts in iTunes no longer look blurry and the mouse location is properly tracked inside iTunes.

Unfortunately this display setting is global and will affect every other application on your system. This is not ideal just to get iTunes to work as expected. Another option is to leave the scaling at the recommended value (ie. 125%) but uncheck "Disable display settings on high DPI settings" in the application properties for iTunes. In my case I could then select songs in the interface without having to click an option 3 above or click a button by hovering 2cm to the left. The interface is a little blurry but works well.

The dialogue above is opened by right clicking on the iTunes executable and selecting "Properties"

In my case teh "Disable display scaling on high DPI setting" options is greyed out so I can't select it. But I found that I could enable it through the Registry using "reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers" /v "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /t REG_SZ /d "~ HIGHDPIAWARE"

But even with that option I see the problem. I guess that somehow the compatibility options are disabled in this Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit, so my only options is to disable the scaling system wide.

This really stinks. I am having this issue with Windows 7 64 Pro. Dual 24 inch panels but I need my scaling to be at 125%. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be.

I had tried so many things to resolve this problem and finally tried the suggestion by soma_uk and FINALLY that one worked! Thanks for asking the question and thanks soma_uk for answering!
