    Hello lees220,

Thanks for seeking help with Boot Camp here in the Apple Support Communities. I understand how important it is for the dual boot option. Here is what I recommend.

The first thing we want to ensure is that all your data is safe. You can make a backup using Time Machine and an external hard drive. Some people recommend an external hard drive two times the size of your internal hard drive because it will fill up with backups eventually, but as long as you have a drive large enough to store all the data currently on your Mac, that will suffice. Use this article for help making a backup for your Mac: Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac. This backs up your Mac partition only. You will need to use some other method to back up the Windows partition if you need.

Once you have a backup of your data, please check this help article: Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp. It shows in the table that your Mac model needs to use Bootcamp 5 with Windows 7 in 64 bit. There is also a link to the support software in the article, but I am also going to provide it here for you: Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5621.

If you wish to try another version of Windows, use this help article to verify it will work with your model of Mac: System requirements to install Windows on your Mac using Boot Camp.

Once you have the support software, open Boot Camp and there should be an option to repair Windows or install support software. If you are not seeing these options, it would be best to remove the current partition, and start over using the information I have provided here to ensure everything goes smoothly and in order.

Thanks and have a wonderful rest of your day.

    HI thanks for that.

i Sorted it by downloading bootcamp again, i must have been doing domething wrong somewhere. All works fine.

although now im going to restore back to full mac mode. After downloading paintshop pro, catching numerous viruses and pop ups (never have this with mac) after an hour, that is enough for me. Im going for photoshop elements which i can use on mac.

    thanks for your help,

    lee.
