Q: ios 10 Iphone won't connect to DHCP wifi

Upgraded IPhone 6 to IOS 10 and now the phone will not connect to my BT Home Hub 5.  All other devices will, even another phone which has IOS 10.

The Phone recognises the router password, puts a blue tick against the connection but no wifi signal appears and it stays on 3G/4G.

If I look at the DHCP information on the phone it is all blank which is wrong.

I've checked on the router and the phone is not showing as connected.

I've reset router etc.

I've reset the network connections on the phone, plus hard reboots etc.

I'm at a loss, please help!

iPhone 6, iOS 10

Just do the network connection reset and it should solve everything - did mine about a week ago and had no issues since.

I did this multiple times, with no progress. Had to enter static ip info, phone will not recognize DHCP.

Sad and arrogant of Apple to not admit to their mistakes and inconvenience the user in such a manner. All of my other devices work just fine. Last time I had an issue with my iPod I was told it wasn't the device it was because I had a PC and not a mac book. Whatever. Sorry you had to go to such trouble to fix Apple's screw-up

I've got a variation on this with my wife iPhone 5S: it joins the WiFi network, doesn't get an address, and instead falls back to a zeroconf address. I look at the ISC DHCP server, and it's providing a DHCPOFFER without receiving a DHCPACK.

This looks like a broken DHCP client.

And further, even when I enter a static address, which I can see in the router's ARP table, copying the settings off my working unit still running iOS 9, iOS 10 decides that it cannot connect to the Internet and refuses to use the interface, which thereafter works intermittently.

I'm betting there are two bugs here: one with the DHCP client, one with connectivity checks. It's possibly also a bug that iOS resists using a WiFi interface just because it can't reach the internet. Call me crazy, but there are times when I use my phone to fix things. Or on isolated networks.

MY iPhone is now working with no issues but now my iPad Pro will not connect. I have reset my network connection but nothing however, I can connect to my iPhones personal hotspot.

    Not impressed

I have the same problem I have updated my Ipad air 2 to IOS10 now it is connecting to my BT Smart Hub has the blue tick but no DCHP info or WiFi logo in the top left of the screen. I have spent nearly 3 hours on the phone to Apple support and followed all thier suggestions which were all the resets network etc plus restore to factory settings on Itunes and nothing worked, they then asked me to try another Router which I did my Neighbors signal it would connect to an EE router but only on the 2.4 band width not the 5 GHZ band width. Apple told me its my router, which it can't be as another Ipad (not IOS10) and a iphone 5s is happily connecting to the network plus all my other devices, samsung phone, sony smart tv lap tops etc. HELP (please be basic tho I am not very IT savy). Or do i just throw it out the window.

Hello there, have you tried connecting to public wifi? I do experience the same problem with the router I have which is the sky hub but if I go out and connect with public wifi (e.g. o2 free wifi in McDonald's, etc.) it seems to pick up quite really good so In my case It's not completely messed up.
