how to put music on iphone 7 with itunes

Hello,

I have recently purchased an iphone 7. I restored it from a backup of my iphone 6. My music on the phone has disappeared and when I sync the device, there is no option to select the music I want to put on my phone. Not all of my music is purchased from iTunes so it wont be sitting in the cloud where I can listen to it only in WIFI. This is really annoying. I don't have the option to select what I want, the message that appears on screen is this: iCloud Music Library is on. iPhone can access your iCloud Music Library. Songs can be downloaded and played via WIFI or a cellular network.

How do I fix this? I want my music on my iphone. H

iPhone 7, iOS 10

No one responded to the point raised about not seeing the option "iPhone music library".(When I click on settings-music on my iPhone 7, I do not see an option titled " iPhone music library ")

I have this same problem and am getting really frustrated with all of a sudden not being able to link my iPhone to my computer.

iFunBox is a completely free program for Windows and Mac. I couldn't find a solution in any forums so I went to good old YouTube.

Here's a link to the program: http://www.i-funbox.com/

This is also the YouTube video I watched that led me to the program with instructions on how to use it. I was surprised by how easy it was after downloading heaps of different programs that ultimately would want me to pay to use it completely.

IT IS COMPLETELY FREE AND EASY TO USE! This is the solution that we're all looking for I think.

I don't know if everyone has figured this out yet, but... If you have music in iTunes on the computer, but not on your device, you can connect your device, open iTunes on the computer. Click the song or album you want to get on your device, then on the top bar, choose Song > Add to Device (this was on a Mac, don't know if it would work the same on a PC) Worked beautifully for me.

I could not find either option. So as someone posted earlier open itunes connect your phone, under the itunes menu up top, click file from the drop down file menu, then choose devices there will be a option to sync to your iphone. use this option it will add your library to your phone. It added the songs I downloaded but was unable to manually add to my phone without duplicating songs 🙂 hope this helps.

None of your words apply to my iPhone7 or MacBook. It simply does not work! I just can't understand how the geniuses working for the great big huge Apple Co produce such an extremely user-unfriendly program called this iTunes. Aren't you yet satisfied with all the torture you have put on your customers? I don't have a degree on computer sciences, and I am not sure I would be able to use iTunes even if I had one.

Hi natalia_s,

Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you want to sync your iTunes music library to your new iPhone 7. Let's see if we can get your music on your device.

First, try turning off iCloud Music Library on your computer and iPhone 7.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > Music, and tap iCloud Music Library to turn it off.

On your Mac or PC:
  1. Mac: From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose iTunes > Preferences.
Windows: From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Edit > Preferences.
  2. Select iCloud Music Library to turn it off.
After turning off iCloud Music Library, you should be able to sync your iTunes library by following the steps in Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB .

Sincerely.

I have the same problem but compounded because when I connect my phone to the computer via USB itunes does not recognize the new iphone. I apparently need to upgrade to a newer version of Itunes. BUT (itmy macbook pro is running OSx 10.6.5 (it was purchased in 2008) and I was told by apple support that I would need to upgrade to El Capitan. But inorder to upgrade to El Capitan I need to be running 10.6.6 and when I go to the apple menu and upgrade software there it indicates that my software is up to date. Am I at the end of my rope with this??? If my itunes is truly in the cloud shouldn't I be able to access my playlists etc from any device???
