The phone you buy is ultimately going to be your choice. I'd balance the cost of more storage on the phone against the cost of more storage on iCloud.

At the end of the day, you'll still own your content and data...it'll just boil down to where you store it.

There is no way for us to answer that.

We have no idea how you use your phone, what you plan to store on it, how much space you may be using currently or eventually end up using based on your own experience and usage.

Only you can answer something like that because only you know your space requirements.

Basically the general rule of thumb is to go for as much space as you can afford. If you can afford 64GB its better to have them and not need them, than need them and not have them.

You have to think that the iPhone capacity is not upgradable.

Better to have more than what you have experience with your 16GB.

Also note the camera is much better than the 5 so you might take more pictures.
