Q: Bluetooth Connectivity Issues with Car

I just received my iphone 7, ios10 and am now having bluetooth connectivity issues with my car. What is happening is my phone will initially connect with my car when I start it up but after like 5 seconds the phone keeps playing but its no longer connected to the car. I got it working for like 7 minutes once but then it dropped again and wouldn't even connect back up. I drive a 2015 BMW and never had any issues connecting with my iphone 6, even with the ios10 update. I have tried powering off my device and also my car to re-pair them like 4 times and its not working. I have also tried Resetting All Network Settings in my phone and that didn't work. I checked with BMW to make sure my car's software is up to date and it is. I have spent thousands on my itunes music collection and not sure i would keep the phone if i don't have the option of listening to my music in my car. Is anyone else have the same issue with a spotty bluetooth connection with their car? How did you resolve it?

iPhone 7, iOS 10, null

I'm also having this problem with a 2015 BMW. Incidentally, I've isolated it as an iPhone 7 issue rather than an iOS 10 issue, as it works fine with a 5S and 6S. My BMW iDrive software is up-to-date.

Yes you are right. I had no issues with my iPhone 6 even though it was using ios10. Same operating system with iphone 7 and now I'm having major issues

I'm having the same problem. It will pair fine and work, and then all of a sudden it will disconnect. Other times, pairing will fail completely, and I have to delete the phone and re-add it again to my car. It always ends up working, but it's becoming very annoying having to delete and re-pair all the time.

I also have this issue on my 2015 BMW. I have updated the firmware on my vehicle and even tried the latest 10.1 beta and it still cuts out. At least Spotify works now. I also notice it happens only when you unlock your phone. For instance if you got into your car and left your phone in your pocket and the music starts playing, it will keep playing until you unlock your phone.

Yes it auto pairs as soon as I get in the car then disconnects after a few seconds. I have started renaming it every time i get in the car but even then, like you said, it goes back out after a few songs. I am not sure I have had a full car ride where it actually stayed on the whole time after I re-paired it. I have also noticed it goes out when I pull into garages. So weird.

Its discouraging to hear its not even working with the 10.1 update . I have also noticed the unlocking trigger. It goes out after you unlock your phone. I have been really hesitant to even touch my phone once I re-pair it and get it working for a few minutes. If I try to change the song, it also disconnects then.
