Mac OS X
Q: voicemail locks phone app
Had a week of clear sailing with iOS 10...yesterday someone left a voicemail message that I was able to retrieve. Now, the phone app still shows one message, and the app locks up when I try to access voicemail. Phone app otherwise works OK. However, when I go into settings for the app, and try to look at Call Blocking and ID, Settings will lock up as well. I've tried everything. Reboot, restart, even wipe and reload (although I did not yet try doing a "new install").
Anyone else have this joy?
iPhone 6s, iOS 10, 128 Gb

Greetings nucleon2000,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
I see that your iPhone's Phone app shows one message, and the app locks up when you try to access voicemail. Also, when you go into Settings and look at Caller ID and Blocking, Settings locks up as well. That's certainly something that I wouldn't want to have happen to my iPhone. I want to make sure that you can use your iPhone like you should with no issues. It looks like you've done some great troubleshooting so far, I have a couple more things for you to try.
First, please make sure that you have a backup of your iPhone's important data using this article: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Then, restore to factory settings like you did last time, but this time set up as a new iPhone and test to see if you get the same result. This article will help: Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings
Cheers.
