"Your Registration Session Timed-Out" ???

When I connect my iPod to the computer to update the playlists, a screen shows up in iTunes asking me if I would like to register (which I have already done). I have the choice to choose "never register", "Later", or "Continue". No matter which one I choose, a message comes up saying "Your registration session timed-out" and I cannont get past that screen. Also, my iTunes software is up to date as well as my iPod. If anyone has any idea how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated!

I have had the exact same problem and after talking to a few Apple Care reps I finally got a product specialist who solved my problem by simply having me set my date and time and time-zone on my clock correctly. But PLEASE NOTE: I am a Mac user, not windows, so I don't know if this will help you or not, but it's worth a try. Hope it helps.

have you guys tried a complete reinstallation of itunes?
From the control panel, is you're using windows, get rid off itunes and quicktime. get into the program files folder and delete quicktime folder, then in C:\windows\system32\ search for quicktime file and delete it.
Make sure the option "show all hidden files and folders" is enabled, under Tools-Folder Options-View tab. Visit Documents and Settings in Local Disk C, under your username or owner, sometime administrator, locate the application data folder and delete "apple computer folder". Do the same under Local Settings. Empty the TEMP folder and the Internet Temporary Folder. Remember to empty the Recycle bin.
Restart you computer (can use MSCONFIG if you're comfortable with that see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302538).

Lastly, from the apple website get a fresh and clean download. Agree with all the default settings.

Hope this may help.

Hi

I had the EXACT same problem as many of you BUT i could not update my ipod (my play lists didn't drop down)

So the apple guy plugged my nano into the mac (i'm a PC user) and it was able to show. he then clicked on the REGISTER NEVER button for me (whenever i clicked it, i got the error) and when i went home, connected to my itunes, it worked.

I think that the file on the nano that asks for registration must've been fu*ked up or smtg but now it works fine
