Q: ios10 photo stream out of date order

I use photo stream not iCloud photos (for a few reasons)

this has worked well enabling me to look into my photo stream on my phone and see photos taken on other devices (iPad) they were all sorted by date so that it was easy to find that photo taken yesterday (via iPad for example)

but after the ios10 update i still have the photo stream album with 1000 photos in it BUT they are now in a complete random order ...

how can I sort this album back to by date

ideas???

iPhone 6s, iOS 10

iOS has a nasty habit of scrambling photos after installation. I think the problem started with iOS 9 (or was it 8?).

never had this problem until now ... interestingly photo stream everywhere else loads in date order (aperture for example)

I'm talking about camera roll and sync'd photos. They are all scrambled after every update of iOS 9.x. Sync'd photos are easy to fix. Unsync and re-sync fixes the problem. Camera roll isn't so easy. I've seen a few discussions about this problem dating back to late 2015 (I think).

my issue and question was about photo stream not camera roll ... the camera roll is fine.

i tried turning off photo stream and turning it back on but they just reloaded in the same random order ... so there must be a new setting in photo stream that is sorting them in a different way
