Q: How to change the default account in app store

The MacBook Pro that I am using used to belong to my wife.  She died and I am trying to just use the computer as it has become my own.  However, the Mac App Store keeps asking for her credentials when I try to do things, such as updates.  How can I get the App Store to default to my credentials?  And Yes, I am an administrator on the system.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

I think that you need to contact Apple directly, explain that your wife has died in order to get access to her Apple ID. It will likely require you to supply a certified death certificate, but you need to discuss that with Apple.

Otherwise, like any 2nd hand Mac, you would need to erase it and start over with the OS and apps from your account.
