hard drive disc space shrinking

When I launch my MacBook air I start with 32GB of disk space but within about an hour I am down to 1.5GB and then the system locks and I have to restart. I tried deleting files and installed Cleanmymac3 to delete all un-needed files but the problem still exists. Any thoughts?
