Rest finger to open on iPad Pro not working

Hello from Dublin Ireland.

Product IPad Pro 12.9" 128gb wifi/cellular iOS 10.0.1(14A403)

I'mposting this to,software update, as I've only had this issue since iOS 10 update

Prior to iOS 10, I used touch ID to open/unlock my iPad Pro. Now, since the update, I physically have to depress the home button for my iPad to open/unlock. Before posting here, I went through some trouble shooting. I deleted both fingerprints, restarted device, rescanned same fingers...still had to depress, deleted prints and scanned two new, (index and thumb) restarted iPad and tried again, once more I still have to depress the home button.

I Have double checked to make sure all appropriate sliders are in place 1 General>>accessibility >>home button>> rest finger to open: 2 General>> Touch ID and passcode: USE TOUCH ID FOR: IPad unlock/ ITunes and App Store. All sliders turned on.

I Cannot see the purpose of having to depress the home button, if the option to rest finger is there for touch ID.

Just for further reference, if I press the home button, screen will shake to indicate wrong action, but as soon as i "Rest" my finger on the home button, my home screen comes on. Hope someone can shed some light on the issue.

TIA

Derek.

Okey guys, I've just found a solution:

  1. Go to General>>accessibility >>home button>> rest finger to open and turn OFF/ON again just to make sure.
  2. Go to Touch ID and passcode: USE TOUCH ID FOR: iPad unlock and turn it OFF -> lock iPad and unlock it with a passcode, then go back to this setting and turn it ON again.

After this, Rest Finger to Open should work properly 🙂 Please let me know if it worked for you.
