Purchased Album Not Showing Up in Music

An album that we recently purchased in the last 45 days is no longer showing up in the Music app on any of our devices, 2 iPhones and 2 iPads.

If we go to the iTunes Store and look at the album it states that the album has been Purchased. If we go into the Music app and go to Pirchased it does not show up in that list.

THisnis is an album my wife always listens to at work it was there last week, I did update her phone to ios10 over the weekend but I can't say if that is what caused the problem.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 10

Here’s my story and how I fixed it:

I purchased songs from the same album on different occasions and they were showing up as different albums because the metadata was wrong for some reason. So I figured I’d delete the album from the Music app and just redownload it from the iTunes Store app. However I was just seeing PURCAHASED if I searched for it, yet it wasn’t appearing in my Purchases.

I finally figured out how to fix it. In the iTunes Store app, view your Apple ID account. There should be an option there for Hidden Purchases. I could find all my missing purchases here.

I’m not sure why they got hidden just from me deleting them, but apparently that’s what happens.

Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.

If you have an album that shows up as purchased on the iTunes Store but not in Apple Music, I can suggest some steps that may help.

First, see if you can download this purchase from your past purchases list as noted in the following article:

Download your past purchases - Apple Support

Next, make sure the album wasn't inadvertently hidden by using the advice in Hide and unhide iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store purchases . You'll need to complete these steps with iTunes on a computer.

Additionally, make sure you're signed into the right Apple ID in Apple Music and that iCloud Music Library is switched on. You can follow the steps in Turn on iCloud Music Library using your iOS devices.

Sadly no I had to get my friend who wrote the song to send me a wetransfer of the album and I used ITunes Match to send it to my devices. Apple is really dropping the ball more and more as time goes on.

I'm having this same issue with Beyonce's Lemonade album. I tried going to the iTunes Store, purchased music, Lemonade shows up, but when I try to hit the download icon it says "this item is no longer available".

I purchased Thrust c Black Asteroid as a preorder. I downloaded it. They screwed up the tracklist on iTunes. All the names were wrong and one song was missing. I delete and redownload as the artist told me the problem was fixed. Then I go to download it from purchased not on this phone. Nothing shows up. I do a search for the artist/album and it shows as purchased and I cannot redownload it.

FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!!!!

After months of purchasing albums on iTunes & not having them accessible from iPhone... sometimes they show up but won't download, sometimes they didn't show up at all...

I got tired of googling & finally decided to contact apple support chat... what ended up working was so simple.

On iPhone, log out of Apple ID in your settings app.... then log back in.

Boom.

Hope that helps & saves you all the headache I have been going through/subscription costs to Apple Music & iTunes Match. 💕

I was having the same problem and I followed what you did. It worked! I found my previously purchased music in the “hidden downloads” section. Thanks!!
