Q: audio recording delayed

I'm having an issue recording audio in Logic. I'm not hearing any latency while recording, but the performance is being printed later than where the actual performance was. It's about a second delayed.

Do a loopback test with your audio interface and offset samples accordingly in Preferences - Audio.

Also,  check Logic's Preferences/Audio and make sure the Recording Delay slider is set at 0<zero> samples. (center position). There's some spooky behavior where Logic mysteriously resets some parameters.. also, look at the Inspector and make sure delay and other parameters are not altered.

All of those setting look good. Seems like this start happening after a certain number of overdubs or punch ins. If I delete the trash and start over, everything is fine. Until I start punching parts again.

Yes. Exactly. By reading this it looks like this maybe a program glitch and not solvable.

    Note: this is a guess!

    In Logic's preferences/audio or /general

Make sure plugin delay compensation is set to All

And... try recording with Low Latency Mode enabled

However, I think it's probably a bug on some systems, there was a 3rd person something similar a few weeks ago.

Just checked this. Compensation was set to all, but Low Latency Mode was unchecked. Just had it checked in the drop down under Record. Also seems to uncheck itself when the program is closed. Will update on results.

This is normal... it should only be enabled when recording... you might want to read up what it does, it's function is limited, it's not something that should be enabled at all times, in fact it has a very specific function only related to recording virtual instruments and/or Audio tracks when there are latency inducing plugins in the audio chain.
