Sep 20, 2016 3:23 PM in response to Mr. Riversby Carolyn Samit,Restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should have access to the built in utilities in OS X Recovery so you can verify and repair the disk if necessary.

Sep 21, 2016 1:23 AM in response to Mr. Riversby lllaass,WHen yo get an error like this (Says S.M.A.R.T. problem or something like that. " it means the HD has failed and needs to be replace. Since you were unsuccessful in Repairing it that confirms it has failed and needs to be replaced.
I would try erasing the drive via Disk Utility. If it can be erased you can try reinstall OSX via Disk Utility but it SMART status says failed I would replace the disk.
