Fix a problem with optical drives

Running OS 10.9.5, 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Mac Pro with 36 GB Memory installed. DVD and CD disks are not recognized and after spinning a few seconds will automatically eject. Repaired Disk Permissions, Restarted, Shutdown, Unplugged computer, Reset SMC, Reset PRAM, Rebuild and repair permissions again with Disk Warrior... problem still exists. CD's and DVD's run fine on all other Macs... Mac Pro Dual-Core running 10.6.8 and MacBook Pro 15" running 10.10.5. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. I would upgrade the OS if I knew that would solve the problem or purchase a new drive but both the Apple shipped and Generic drives have the same problem.
