Q: Issue with iOS 10 passcode from 4 to 6 and locked out of device

since the iOS 10 update on a iPhone 6 (no fingerprint button) the passcode originally 4 digits are now 6 and I'm locked out of the device, was I supposed to add a certain number to the original passcode?
