Iphone 6S water resistant, hoax?

I heard of many blog posts of people saying stuff like 'Finally Apple makes a waterproof iphone", and stuff. This is regarding of iphone 6s, not 7. Is this a hoax, or is this true? They say stuff like water resistant up to 1 ft.

Probably hoax. Even though I have an iphone 6S I don't trust blog posts; but Apple, is this true or hoax?

your right not to trust blog posts, many blogs were recommending twisting the iPhones that had the issue with the touch response chips not working which Apple will tell you it's an immediate void of you warranty.

iPhone 6 was classified having a low grade water resistance that could be classified as higher than previous models but this was given to Apple by another group and Apple didn't come out saying iPhone6 was water resistant. The only device Apple makes that they claim to be "water resistant" is the iPhone 7 and there also seems to be a lot of confusion about water proof vs water resistant. Water proof might suggest you can take the device scuba diving or in the shower. Water resistant means you may limit that to dropping in the sink for 3 seconds or keeping it on the edge of the sink listen to the Best Show podcast and the shower is running. Even then I'm not sure what apple would consider warranty and what would not constitute as it if damaged occurred with water.

Yeah, probably hoax. I am pretty sure those people rely on epic tests that people do on youtube. I wouldn't count on those people. Those tests are too biased. I do not think it is even manufactured to be any way water resistant. But I heard that they put a rubber gasket inside so if you accidently got it in the rain for a short period of time, it should be fine. But probably false

Half and Half, the iPhone 6s has adhesive like in the 7 and with the plentalobe screws why have that in there? I know why for the 4s and 4 but why for the 6s? Maybe to keep the 3D touch panel in place? Myself, I think it is semi-IP 67 because i've dropped mine and the lifeproof case failed and Apple found no signs of water damage and neither did I! and I seems to be just fine, and the gaskets and rubber seals around the IMEI shield, many can agrue, apple may just say no since they didn't want to lose sales in the iPhone 7.

No, they make a device called the Apple Watch. The Series 0 model had an IP67 rating, the Series 2 has a rating to 50 meters and is safe for swimming. The iPhone 7 also has an IP67 rating.

There really aren't many devices that are water proof, there are just various water resistance levels.

Thanks for all those helpful answer!

Yes, I knew it was a hoax.

In case if you don't know, water resistant means you can take it in the shower, or wherever that is damp. But waterproof means that you can submerge it in water. iPhone 7 is water resistant because it can only go up to 1 meter. Waterproof is usually 5 meters or deeper.
