What is the "trust" button on the iPhone?

I keep pushing the 'trust' button, makes no difference. No photos from the iPhone to the iMac..

Why does Apple waste OUR time with these quaint setups? Androids have SD cards -photo/data transfer is done in seconds!

Why - it is called security to protect your data from hackers and outsiders - one of Apple's strengths and Android's weaknesses

Basically Apple just wants to make sure you trust the computer your iDevice is connected to and to allow it to access certain data or not.

I get this same message, the "Trust this Computer" dialog should open on the iPhone but it doesn't. Every time I open Photos I get the same message, however I can import photos.

Resetting the iPhone trust settings doesn't resolve this problem. I suspect the problem is Photos since the iPhone works perfectly with iTunes.

To be able to see the "Trust" prompt, connect the iPhone again to your computer and launch iTunes first, not yet Photos. iTunes will usually make it possible to confirm the trust on the iPhone, if it is unlocked.

After that, you should be able to import photos from the iPhone without the Trust alert.
