Q: Macbook no longer responds to anything

I was trying to migrate from a PC to a new Macbook.  I did not have Office for Mac at the time so I was unable to transfer everything into Outlook, so I tried to transfer it separately but it did not work.  When I tried the migration again, it would only let me save everything in another account (it would not allow me to replace existing).  So then someone advised that I delete all of my files and then try to migrate over again.  Under "All My Files," I did a "select all."  That's when the absolute worst happened.  As I was dragging all of my files to the Trash, I accidentally lost the cursor and it Dropped everything onto the desktop!  Since then (about 8 hours ago), I have a rainbow circle spinning.  I can't get anywhere.  I can't contact Apple Support because they will not allow anyone without a serial to get through, and I can't get to the serial number because it won't stop spinning.  I have already tried the "end task" (Ctrl Apple Esc) and a hard boot (ugh).  Nothing is fixing it.  So much for Mac being better than PC?  Not having a good experience.  Thanks Apple for your famous great support!
