Q: Can not clean from trash
Hi all,
My current OS Sierra 10.12 and The problem started on OS X El Capitan.
Problem:
- I was getting Can not load data from apple software update on App Store, When tried on terminal with "softwareupdate" command - was getting operation could not be performed, permission denied even with sudo
- I came to one forum post where the suggestion was to delete /var/folder/ZZ folder contents to get it to working state and i did the same (even though there was a warning to take backup before you follow it)
- I could not start the OS after i deleted those files
- I used thunderbolt to transfer those files from another mac system to the corrupted one
- I got it to work but i found
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 3293 Sep 5 22:39 DeferredInstallFixup.file_list
drwx------ 2 root wheel 68 Sep 19 04:34 PKInstallSandboxManager-SystemSoftware
these two files inside Trash folder in sub folders - "/Users/chandan/.Trash/zz/zyxvpxvq6csfxvn_n0000000000000/C"
Now the Problem is i am not able to delete these files/folders.
Can some one help me to clean it, If these are system files used by system from this Trash location then how can i send it back to right place. This is annoying as i can not clean my Trash.
Thanks,
Chandan
