Unable to move/delete apps - iPhone7

I had the hardest time deleting apps. None of this advice worked for me, no matter what I did that little x would not pop up. BUT THEN! I went to settings>general>restrictions and my 'Deleting Apps' was turned off. So I turned it back on and I was finally able to delete apps! Hope this helps!

Read through the entire thread. If you have the newer phones with 3D Touch, you will find that you cannot press on the icon, only touch it with your fingertip lying gently on the icon without pressing.

Don't long press on the app which you want to delete(like used in previous versions), just give a small tap on the app you're trying to delete till all the apps giggle. Once all apps starts giggling you can delete as per your request :-)

I actually just figured it out. I followed all the steps on here and it didn't work. It worked fine when I first got my phone and I remember going thru some tips for something and it messed this icon delete and move mess up. I went back in...

Go to settings/general/ restrictions and make sure restrictions is OFF. Now it wiggles to delete and move! Viola! Finally!

Are you accidentally activating 3d touch by chance?

I Press and hold and I guess it takes it to 3D Touch with options besides to delete. Instructions say to press and hold to activate and then delete. How do you get this to work?

Exactly right. Prior to iPhone 7 you had to press sort of hard on the icon. Now you just LAY your finger on the icon and wait a second and it will behave just the way they used to on the previous versions. They wobble and have an x so you can delete the app.

I too have the same problem..

Are you accidentally activating 3d touch by chance? 3D Touch happens when the user presses to hard on the screen which causes a little pop up on the screen. If the user wants to move an icon, simply rest your finger on the screen until the icons start to shake.
