Q: No sound on handsfree in car on incoming calls after iOS 10 upgrade

I recently upgraded my iPhone 6s to iOS 10. With one of the iOS 9 versions it made my handsfree connection in my Toyota "choppy", but this time I could call people without problems so I thought all was ok. That was, until I received a call and didn't hear a thing after accepting it.

Seems iOS 10 broke my audio on incoming calls. I can't hear the caller and the caller can't hear me. I've tried resetting the network settings and pairing again, but unfortunately that didn't help either (this resolved the stuttering problem last time).

Anyone got tips on how to resolve this?

    Hi DelGurth!

I see that your car stereo's Bluetooth connection to your iPhone is no longer working properly.  I know it's important to have that working right, so I'm happy to offer some help.  Please follow the instructions in this article, and it may be necessary to contact Toyota to see if there is a firmware update available for your car stereo.

I have the same problem since I installed iOS 10.

    iPhone 6s and Toyota Auris.

When I make the call, the sound goes through the audio system but when I receive a call, I can't hear the caller and they can't hear me. They radio doesn’t even stop playing as it usually does for phone calls or GPS instructions.

I have tried all of the steps recommended below and nothing works. Call Audio Routing is set to Automatic.

    If you're using Bluetooth

    1. Check your car stereo's user manual for steps about pairing with a Bluetooth device.
    2. On your iOS device, swipe up to open Control Center, then taptwice to turn Bluetooth off and back on.
    3. Restart your iOS device.
    4. On your iOS device, unpair your car stereo. On your car's display, unpair your iOS device and any other devices. Restart your car and your iOS device, then pair and connect again.
    5. Update your iOS device.
    6. Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.

Chatted with someone from Apple Care. One more thing remains to be tested: a complete factory reset without restoring my local settings. If that works, we know that the problem is somewhere within my settings. Otherwise it's the software. And if it's the software I'll have to contact Apple Care again.

And I'll test my audio system with a non upgraded iPhone, just to make sure that it still works with iOS 9.

Hi having same issue here after iOS 10 update

problem is in Holden VE series II commodore

Nonaudio on incoming call (one way) unless switching

phone to handset audio then back to car BT audio.

    Then call audio is fine.

Factory restored car stereo still no good.

Thanks for your input Markymark75. I've not tried switching audio, but if this fixes the issue, it surely must be software related. Btw, you cay that you factory restored the car stereo, but they want me to factory reset my iPhone Which is quite annoying.

Btw NEVER reset the network settings on your phone while having the iCloud keychain enabled. I lost my WIFI settings on all my devices after this
