Manual lap (or segment) pace and distance

Is there a way (or will there be a way) to see lap distance and pace on the series 2 watch? I want to set manual laps (or "segments") during runs and see my stats in real time, not just in the phone app later. I used this function on my garmin all the time and it is very valuable during pace work or track workouts. I also use strava but I don't see this function in their app either.

Apple Watch Series 2, iOS 10

You may find that a third-party app better meets your needs.

To learn about the features of third-party apps, I suggest consulting both the developers' app descriptions and their support resources. For example:

Runmeter:

Map My Run:

Strava:

Nike+ Run Club:

If you cannot find the information that you are looking for, you may wish to ask the developers directly. This is usually possible via their support resources (you may need to create a free account, in order to be able to log in). They may also be open to receiving feature requests.
