Drop Down Menu's in Numbers from Excel sheets?

Trying to open an Excel spreadsheet created by my boss in Numbers. It has some drop down menus, (pictured below) and they won't display properly. Would much prefer using Numbers than Excel, does anyone know of any tricks to make this drop-down appear in Numbers as it does in Excel?

In Excel you can automatically populate a dropdown with values in a specific range of cells via "Data Validation."

Numbers does not have dropdown but it does have a data format called Pop-Up Menu. It is easy to populate a Pop-Up Menu with values manually; you simply select cells containing the various values among which you want to make a choose, and format them as Pop-Up Menu. The result will have something very similar to your screenshot.

But doing this fully automatically as in Excel is not currently possible in Numbers.

Numbers provides an attractive working environment, but if you frequently need to exchange documents with your boss and your boss uses Excel, then best use Excel.🙂
