Bluetooth connectivity issues on iOS 10.

Since I updated to iOS 10, my iPhone 6S Plus is not properly connecting to my car - 2007 BMW 530xi. I had no problems prior to updating to iOS 10.

MY phone shows that it is connected and so does my car. However, my phone calls are being dropped at the beginning of the conversation. I answer the phone through my car yet it will not work for whatever reason. I then try to change to speaker settings from my car to my phone then back to my car to no avail.

Please do not ask me to try simple stupid troubleshooting as I have already done so. I have used Apple products and iPhone specifically since the iPhone 4. I know what I am doing. It is just that iOS 10 has broken some internal functionality with regards to Bluetooth connectivity.

If anyone else is having similar issues with their iOS 10 Bluetooth not connecting, please state so so that Apple can rush a quick update. I cannot even use my Bluetooth in my car which is very frustrating as I drive a lot for work and do not want to put on headphones or anything else on my ears while driving as it is pointless to me.

This has been happening to me also, and I guess it was when I updated to iOS 10 on iPhone 6. I have it connected to my 2013 GMC Acadia. The phone will ring over the bluetooth, but it won't let me answer the call. I change the audio to phone or speaker, answer the call and SOMETIMES it lets me switch it over to the bluetooth. I can make calls out over the bluetooth, however.

I deleted and then reconnected the phone, no help. I have tried turning the bluetooth off and on, no help.

Upgraded my phone to the 7+ this weekend and having the same issue.

My sister has a Nissan, is having the same issue and has tried the same fixes.

My husband has a Ford with Sync and his works fine.

have this problem as well. Iphone 6S plus with the latest 10.2.1. My vehicle is a BMW.

My Iphone will connect to my BMW 328I bBluetoothfine however when a phone call comes in i can answer, but I cant hear them and they cant hear me. The phone, after 5-6 seconds will disconnect and then become unpaired with my BMW. Once I re-pair I can make / recieve one (1) phone call, and after that call is completed, the process will repeat itself again of disconnecting when answered if another call comes in.

With IOS 9, I had ZERO bluetooth related problems. Seriously, zero issue. Then something happened. Since upgrading to IOS 10 I've had nothing but Bluetooth issues between this phone and my automobile. So what happened? Well I know my car didn't change, but my phones operating system sure did. Something happened that caused a perfectly good Bluetooth connection in IOS9 to stop working well in IOS 10. I have the latest firmware that BMW supplies for my year / model of car, and I am upgraded to the latest version IOS that Apple offers.

I don't need finger pointing as to who is to blame. Since I've see many other BMW owners as well as other vehicle owners having difficulties as well, I would be very on point to say this is in Apple's court to fix. Android connects reliably. Apple does not. This will be a factor when I upgrade my phone very soon.

I am having the same issue as everyone here. I have a 2013 GMC Terrain - never had any problems with Bluetooth before updating my software. The only issue I had with iOS9 was that it would freeze my maps when I plugged my phone into the USB. Apple fixed that quickly, within weeks. This Bluetooth problem has been continuing for months now, I have tried everything, including setting my default answer to "Bluetooth Headset". I can make calls with no problem but if someone calls me, it will ring through Bluetooth, but as soon as I click "Accept" it is transferred to my phone. I then have to wait at least 5 seconds until it gives me the option on my screen to "transfer call". As a real estate agent, I get many calls while on the road and having to try to grab my phone is not a safe option, nor is having clients sit and wait 5-10 seconds after answering for me to be able to actually say "Hello". This is unacceptable, Apple.

I have the EXACT same problem. For me it's a 2016 X3, but the behavior is the same. The devices think they are connected, but in effect are not.

I have reset my network connections, I have disconnected and re-connected manually, and some other trial and error steps. None have equated to the sustained, stable connection I had with iOS 9.

I have a 2007 530xi. I know some people on BMW forums were complaining along with Audi forums - and I think I read somewhere that Lexus or something also? Not sure about the latter but definitely so about the first two.

Telling people I know with car Bluetooth not to upgrade at the moment due to this.

I have a connection issue with my Toyota 2013 LandCruiser Sahara since I upgraded to iOS 10.0.2.

When they connect, the car kit says its answering an incoming call & blocks all activity on the car radio, no music, no GPS. There's nothing I can do on the radio to clear this, except turning it off!

On the phone there is NO call, its totally normal. If I make a call from the phone, the car kit takes the call & when it finishes it returns to normal operation. If I turn the phone onto Aeroplane mode it disconnects from the radio & all is ok.

On rare occasions it will clear this false call itself in a few seconds, other times it never clears. Sometimes this problem wont occur.

I've re-paired the phone without fixing this issue.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

The only way I've found so far is to turn off the iPhone and then, turn it back on to reconnect the bluetooth. That's a real pain because I like to be able to listen to my music and use hands-free calling in the car. (I have a 2014 Honda Accord.) The problem only appeared after the update to iOS 10. I mentioned this problem to an Apple support adviser in a telephone call and she sent me a link to let Apple know, as she said she hadn't heard that issue come up before. I'm glad I'm not the only one having the problem. If anyone has a cure other than the one I've mentioned, please let us know.

I've been having troubles with apple Bluetooth for years! It simply *****. I already had 5 iPhones and I've never fully managed to connect one of them even to my Macbook Pro or Macbook Air, which are Apple products - that's ridiculous. That applies also for other devices like Android phones, other computers, speakers and cars. It usually takes hours or days to find the device on my iPhone. After first pairing it usually works without problems but it is indeed a frustrating problem. Recently I couldn't pair my iPad (still running on 9.3.3) with Opel Astra but anyone else could connect just fine. I managed to connect after few hours or maybe the next day. I feel like Apple is not very good when comes to the wireless technology. I usually fail to connect or even see/find wifi network while every non Apple user is happily browsing already. Air drop also works only from time to time. It's annoying. I am sorry for not helping with your issue I just feel like there is no general solution. My troubles with Bluetooth are not caused by upgrading to ios 10, because it never fully worked in the first place.
