hi there, after updating to macos sierra, the system no longer recognises my external edifier r19u usb speakers. i'm unable to play audio through those and instead the sound now plays thru the internal speakers. any ideas on how to fix this?

Have you checked for updated drivers? Contacted Edifer for support?
Just update to High Sierra...edifier r19u appears at first reboot. But disappears after a restart.

FWIW, in the sense Sierra has changes that broke certain devices it's possible. However, unless there is actually a bug in Sierra it's up to the manufacturers to update their software. It might be too early to tell which is which.
Quite simple : with El Capitan, everything works. Not with Sierra.
As I said, Sierra has changes. Sierra is not El Capitan so it's not "Quite simple".
