Search does not work in Notes iOS10

I am facing the following problem on iOS 10.

The search does not work for Notes when they have the lock feature.

I would understand that when the note is locked/closed the search must not return anything for security reasons.

However, if the lock is open, the search is not returning anything either.

Is this a normal behaviour ?
