Q: The files that I save on iCloud drive, are they safe just as in my document files?

I had been saving all my documents in the "documents" on my lap top.  Recently, I started saving in the iCloud drive. Do I need to save them in the documents also? If I decide not to have the iCloud service, will the documents already saved in the iCloud drive be available?

iCloud is very safe -- iCloud security and privacy overview - Apple Support providing you have a good password, and either two-factor authentication or two-step verification in place.

If you wish, you can choose to save your documents entirely in iCloud Drive, or you can choose to save it elsewhere as well in addition to having it saved in iCloud Drive.

If you decide to not use the iCloud service, removing the documents from the iCloud Drive will delete them forever.
