iPhone 5s - problem with emojis

hello.

I have just registired there to ask for a help about emojis. when I text messages in any app (e.g. whatsapp) and I want/need to use emojis, I press some emoji (e.g. this one 🙂) on the keyboard and then whatsapp just switches off and moves to the main menu. it's been like this for about a year, having updated to iOS didn't change anything. this problem occured when i had iOS 7.

P.S. sorry for my english!😉

Hi there, vanilla bear!
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having issues with apps on your iPhone. I know how important it is to be sure apps are working properly with emojis. Check out this article with steps to Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. This will allow you to close the apps you're having issues with.

Another article you can check out is this one for If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won't open.

Next, check out this article with steps to Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

The next thing you might want to try is going to Settings on the iPhone and then to Reset. Once there, tap Reset all Settings. This will reset the iPhone settings, but not erase personal information such as photos, contacts, or music. It will, however, remove Wi-Fi and VPN settings so be sure you have those settings and passwords ready for when the iPhone is started back up.

If that doesn't work, it would be a good idea to be sure there is not a software issue as the root cause of this for you.

  1. Check out this article for the steps for How to backup your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
  2. Use this article for the steps to Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings.
  3. Once that is done, set the phone up as new and test the phone to see if the issue is still going on. Then, follow this article to Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

Have a great day!
